I was just reading there. Never knew that these guys were on the DWA list.
Is there a list of DWA animals that we can have in this country?

I dont have the intention of keeping any DWA's myself. Live with my family and its a risk you just cant take.

Just reading up on a DWA license now to see what you have to go though to get one. Some people say you can pay any were from 25 quid for one up to 2000 depending on the council.
Also you need locked enclosures, locked room and 2 doors etc.

Out of interest Steve, what did you have to go though to get one?

varies from council to council

mine are kept in a locked tank which is inside a locked viv which is inside a locked room, this seemed to pacify the council inspector. he was more interested in my beetles and how nice they looked

Some councils are very reluctant to give you any help and advice, took me 3 months to get hold of the right person and another 2 to get the visit

I've got to ask, what are L.q's like to keep? Never kept them myself, I generally stay away from the medically significant species as I share my house with other people so its not really fair. I've heard they aren't really that agressive but obviously when they do turn on you they pack a mighty punch.
