Could someone tell me what this is????

While in Costa Rica last week, this critter turned up on one of the walls outside our hotel. It was about 4" long. I have not been able to find any beetle with a fuzzy snout and nothing this big. Also saw a smaller version.

Here is the bug:

Any idea what it is? :roll:

this is a weevil.

Harald and Fredrik. I knew it was some type of weevil, but couldn't find a fuzzy one anywhere. :lol:

wow, you're good. i knew it was a weevil too, but pretty fast id! also, a really cool looking large weevil! can very large weevil bite and drill into your flesh btw?

it looks like its been shot straight in the face with an arrow :lol:

but yeah cool one there but wouldnt fancy having a 4 inch weevil on my wall lol
